The most interesting and historically accurate, to the early 20th century, place in Binghamton, The Bundy Museum, a restored Victorian era mansion, holds memories of this town’s past and displays why it has found success over the years.

Installed in the museum, the maid’s corridor specifically, this book of portraits supplies a clock, a symbol of the museum’s prowess, to the only room without one. The book’s cover imitates the patchwork design of the bedsheets as well as refers back to the hard, manual labor of weldors and engineers of Binghamton’s past. The subjects of the portraits in the pages ahead, residents and natives of the town, also aim to reflect on the topic, as they responded to questions regarding special or romanticized places or people in Binghamton to them.

Featuring many aspects that nod to the museum’s history, design elements are oftentimes direct illustrations of frames, mirrors, artifacts, and more that are featured in the room the book is presented in, as well as around the house. Some charictaristics are even grasped and influenced by a “Godey’s Magazine,” from 1894, which is also held in the museum. Without further adieu, allow Rod Serling, creator of The Twilight Zone, to kick off the following spreads of portraits and quotes.
